NFHR Evaluation, Libby 2001

We attended the NFHR Norwegian Fjord Horse Evaluation held in Libby, Montana in September, 2001. The NFHR Evaluators were Karen Cabic and Wayne Hipsley. Arne Presthus, Norwegian Evaluator, was also there providing separate scores and commentary. Together with Jeanne Poirier, we brought 10 horses to the show and evaluation. Eight of the ten horses were evaluated. Out of the eight, we received seven Blue ribbons and one Red ribbon for conformation. Six participated in the Performance Tests and received Silver Medallions of Quality. Orinke earned a Silver Medallion of Quality, Level 1; BDF Obelisk earned a Silver Medallion of Quality, Level 2; Maerta earned a Silver Medallion of Quality, Level 2; WS Romulus (owned by Gail Russel) earned a Silver Medallion of Quality, Level 2; MVF Sara (owned by Susan North and Starfire Farm) earned a Silver Medallion of Quality, Level 4 and Hanne (Owned by Jeanne Poirier) earned a Silver Medallion of Quality, level 2.

Score: 89.5	During the Introductory Driving Tests, Beth was scheduled to drive a horse in every other test. We recruited Jeff Pedersen to assist with harnessing, warm up and driving the horses to the gate. Thanks to Jeff's help, the evaluators never had to wait for the Starfire horses.
