I Love Riding Fjords

 Hi, my name is Sami Poirier. I am 11 years old, live in Berthoud, Colorado and I LOVE to ride Fjords. I love riding them and recently I have been jumping them ! Although I spend most of my time with my Fjord, Hanne, I am also starting to take lessons on Maerta from Beth Beymer at Starfire Farm.

Maerta is a 5 year old mare that I have been training to jump. She is beautiful, kind and willing! Maerta was doing dressage before she learned to jump. She loves jumping and did a great job at her first show! Maerta is a brown dun Fjord, but looks red to me, and has shown at the National Western Stock Show. Pretty soon she will be doing Gran Prix a the Stock Show. I lover her so much!

The picture I drew of Maerta and me shows how high I am jumping her now, about 18 inches.
