Well, we’re about to start our 12-day tour and everyone is wicked excited… myself included. Boulder Beth (Laber), Randy Billinger and I all arrived yesterday and today we got out bikes assembled and went through the tour Rules ‘n Regulations, Safety meeting and met the other cyclists we’ll be riding with. Everyone is super nice and looks extremely fit. It doesn’t look like anyone will have trouble in these “hills” (some have sections of 20% grade!).
Normally I’d upload some photos, but I had to do a ‘factory-init’ on my iPhone today (after spending 2 hours at the Verizon store — ugh) and that wiped out most of my photos. I’ll check to see if I have any on my little camera to share.
It was a gorgeous day today. Blue skies, low humidity and calm. Kinda hate to waste such a day on preparing to ride instead of actually riding. Rumor has it there is rain in our future. Oh well, if I’m gonna get wet I at least want to be on my bike!
Will try to add an entry every day and bring you along as we wander this beautiful countryside. Tonight we’re sleeping in Charlottesville, Virginia. Tomorrow we head to Harrisonburg.
